Why I’m Not Using Opera or Safari

I tried out alternatives to Firefox 3.0 but it looks like Firefox is the only one for me, for now.

Google Reader doesn’t work on Opera 9.50, which is a shame. I hope Google fixes this soon. It’s a great browser.

Safari 3.1.2 for Windows doesn’t have a new tab button, and the fonts are fuzzy. According to ars technica, “Safari 3.1 for Windows continues to use the Mac OS X font anti-aliasing approach rather than the native font anti-aliasing system in Windows (ClearType).”

If you’re using Firefox 3.0, try the Basics 3.0.1 extension, which adds a new tab button on the left side of the tab bar.

You may want to give Opera 9.5 another spin. It’s been several months since I posted the entry you linked to about issues with Google Reader. In the latest, official release of Opera (I originally posted about an alpha release), Google Reader seems to work like a charm.
