Update on Google Chrome

Previously I mentioned that by using the --no-sandbox parameter, I would lose out in terms of having one process per tab. Actually I was wrong. According to Mark Lawson from Google:

--no-sandbox disables Google Chrome’s sandbox protection that keeps the system safe from problems in web sites’ HTML and Javascript.

Using --no-sandbox, I do get one process per tab, but my system is now a bit more vulnerable. So I’ve opted to modify the registry settings for Symantic Endpoint Protection instead:

  1. Open regedit
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SysPlant.
  3. Open the Start DWORD.
  4. Change the value to 4.
