Spending is Saving

I read in The Star the other day how Japanese tourists are flocking to South Korea due to the strengthening yen and the weakening won. Main attraction: shopping centres.

A female Japanese was quoted as saying, “… I feel that the more I shop, the more I save.”

Now I finally get it. That’s why ladies go crazy whenever there’s a sale. All this while I thought buying stuff means spending money. I was wrong: handing over cash to a salesperson in a shopping mall means saving money. Of course! Trust women to show us menfolk the error of our ways.
