More on Google Chrome
I’d like to build upon Ady’s excellent write-up on Google Chrome. I feel that Chrome has combined the best features of FF3 and Opera 9.5.
Features from FF3:
- “Magic” address bar
- Syntax-highlighted viewed source
- Incremental find
- Integrated Firebug-like tool! Absolutely cool. In Chrome, right-click and select “Inspect element”
Feature from Opera:
- Speed dial, but Chrome’s implementation is much more intuitive. I didn’t use Opera’s offering but Chrome’s “Most visited” was of great help to me straight out of the box.
One thing which I think is a practical joke: in Chrome, highlight any word or phrase and right-click. “Search Live Search for <phrase>” will appear, which will bring you to Microsoft Live Search. What the ..? Is Google telling Microsoft that they’re so unafraid of Live Search, that they’re willing to direct users of their own web browser to Microsoft’s search engine?

Thanks Rizal for the update on SEP.
I am not sure what the default search engine is (as I have tweaked everything I can in my Chrome), but I think you can change it in the options. The right click context menu depends on what engine you set.
Weirdly enough, I don’t have Live Search in my list.

Go to Customize and Control icon on the top right side. Select Options then go to Basics tab, there you’ll see the Default Search option.

I agree with Ady. I’m pretty sure it’s the “default search” on your Chrome “Option”.

Ok, I’ve now changed it to Google. But it’s interesting that it was initially set to Live Search …
