I Hate Monopolies

I really hate monopolies.

On Saturday night I couldn’t access the Internet because Streamyx in my area was down.

This morning on the Playhouse Disney Channel, Bob the Builder was in Mandarin. When I called Astro, after asking me to check my decoder’s settings, they put me on hold and finally told me that they had a problem with their “channel provider”.

Because we have no choice, they can get away with lousy service.

Alright, these things are beyond our control, so getting angry won’t help. But the point is: if you’re ever in any position to do so, please let competition flourish. Monopoly will only result in mediocrity.

    But don’t have competitors, how to choose others ler? Maxis broadband and Celcom 3G seems like cannot be trusted ler :p
