How to Convince a Small Child to Take a Bath
The book says that you should talk to your small child as you would an adult.
| Me: | Come, let’s wash? | |
| Child: | (Busy playing with blocks) No thanks. | |
| Me: | After we wash, we go out, ok? We’ll get into the car and go for a drive, but before that, we wash first? Vroom, vroom! (It was the truth – we were in a hurry to go somewhere and the li’l feller really needed a good scrub) | |
| Child: | (Thinking long and hard about it) Um … no thanks. | |
| Me: | D’oh! |
(Bumping and thudding as the child is dragged kicking and screaming into the shower whilst the father is swearing under his breath)
